Franz S. Love it!! If you dream about the space exploration and science you will love this book. Easy to read with fresh dialogs and links to the physics, chemistry and biology that will get us to Mars. Luring our inner explorer to the next frontier and making a dream almost touchable.

When I heard about this book I immediately wanted to read it, but not because I have ever been interested in space travel, but because it was merely a story of human survival on epic proportions. Weir created an interesting character that has attitude. Although no one can relate to being stranded on Mars, his reactions to isolation and imminent death are relatable; Mark fought instead of accepting defeat.

I laughed more while reading this book than I should have, but Mark is a very funny character.

Even during times where his future looked dismal, he had a witty comeback. Sarah J. Alastair Reynolds. City of Fallen Angels. Quidditch Through the Ages. Graduation Day.

The Martian: A Novel

Very down-to-earth, vivid, and intense. Couldn't put it down! Pijl on March 9, I stayed up way to late reading this, what an incredible story and told so well. I've got that post reading shock going on, I wish the story could continue! Quite possibly the best hard science fiction novel I've ever read.
