It contains about recipes drawn from all over Italy, and has gone through eight editions. They are based on the Italian edition, with a special section of recipes from prominent Italian cooks around the world. While Phaidon's original edition had been criticized for awkward measurements the US edition does not include metric conversions , the English editions have overall been well received and very popular. A revised English edition was released in November , with adjusted measurements, new photographs, as well as a new cover, more similar to the red leather binding of the original Italian edition. The concept and drawings were made by the Brazilian artist Adriano Rampazzo. Then it was awarded best illustrated cookbook in the world for that year. Later on the same year, as a celebration of the 20 years of the Gourmand Awards, Chop Sizzle Wow received best illustrated cookbook of all times prize. Domus also produces Il cucchiaino d'argento for children, as well as creating recipes for Phaidon's books; these include regional cookbooks so far for Tuscany, Sicily, and Puglia as well as seasonal and single-ingredient books on pasta and seafood.

Lots that I have no idea on how to cook and also no doubt a variety that I would choose not to eat like lambs brains and bits, but hey, this is so anything is possible.

No time limit is put on this, so lets be generous and just say a few years ahhhhh!! I am just going to have fun with it.

A lesson of learning whilst cooking. There will be no method at all, by that I mean I will hop around it from chapter to chapter and recipe to recipe, etc. Cook what I fancy!!

I will take a photograph of what I have cooked and give a brief description along with the page number in the book of what I did, but that will be it!!

As this is a published book I just want to show you the end results of the recipes. You will fall in love with this book as I did, and no doubt end up downloading it!! The reason why I thought I would set myself this huge challenge is really to just learn more.

On how to prepare certain vegetables and also how to put together certain dishes and obtain the right flavour combinations. I also find it sometimes difficult to cook items that I would choose to not normally eat, eg: Offal…..

The book is nice and directive - for the tomato sauce you are instructed not to use cheese! Lots of fun to explore.

I would recommend this book to anyone interested in Italian food. I have over twenty Italian cookbooks and Italian parents that have taught me their regional cooking.
