I have tried to delete the Outlook Address Book in Account Settings but the Remove button is greyed out. I have tried to add a new address. I just updated to Win7 with a clean install and reinstalled Office I restored the medical-site.info file using Easy transfer. All emails and accounts. In a new Outlook profile you might want to be able to use your Contacts folder in your address book. Optionally, you can export that data from Access to a csv- or xlsx-file.
Select all the contacts that you wish to export. Right click on your selection. Choose Add to Contacts. Via a right click, you can quickly add contacts from the Exchange Global Address List to your own Contacts folder.
Notes: This process is relatively slow so selecting lots of contacts could result in Outlook being inaccessible for a longer period of time. They usually can produce a list much quicker directly from Exchange or Active Directory and are also less resource intensive to the servers.
Step 2: Filtering and exporting the added contacts If you did not move your own Contacts to a different folder, you can still quickly distinguish between your own contacts and the ones you added from the GAL via the Modified or Created date.
Oh well. Unfortunately, the box is still grayed out for me. If I select OAB, nothing.

It appears as if your Outlook Address Book is working as it should.
There are never any entries in the "Outlook Address Book. By definition you have a Contacts Folder somewhere that has entries, but it is not the one you are currently displaying in your Navigation Pane.
Use Folder List view to display all your folders so you can find your active Contacts Folder.

Everything ok except, like this thread is discussing, email address do not show in address book. I was able to 'bold' the check box to enable contacts for address book under contact properties by opening alternate. But still no emails in address book. I then went to Control Panel and removed the 'outlook' profile and re-added. Still no emails in address book. I'm new to this community stuff but you mentioned reading 'newsgroups' in a previous post.

Creating a new profile will fix it as long as this is a unique profile that you then connect properly to your data file. Creating a new profile: Well, my friend and I came up with a work-around.
He has his contacts organized in categories within the contacts folder. Then click on 'friends', Ctrl 'A' the contacts and drag them into 'friends1'. Remove 'friends' and move on to the next.
In each case, we tested with a new message, clicking on the 'To' button, and contact names would show up. Now we were not done yet.
