Yes, like any proper billionaire--he acted stupid. But that is what Kaitlyn is for! She is there to make him feel even more stupid and whip them all into shape. Yes, she may be 'cold hearted', but she brought a level of dynamic to the storyline that without her--it wouldn't have been the same family or story! Each character reached out of the book and sang me their story in one heck of a literary romance! Then we got spanking! I mean--I'm in the lifestyle--I appreciate spankings--however, so many writers over do just a simple spanking.
This was written so perfect. It was just right and I appreciated the scenes of light kink that I smiled and got all wiggly in my bed sheets! She is an excellent story teller, and this will not be the last book I read! Sep 03, Heather rated it liked it. Ophelia Broulliard and Vincent DuChamps have loved and lusted after each other for many years. The story follows their rather roller coaster ride into marriage. After the patriarch of the family dies suddenly, his will dictates the three DuChamps siblings to complete certain tasks to get access to their inheritance.
Throughout the story, Vincent is trying to resolve the scars left from a chi 3. Throughout the story, Vincent is trying to resolve the scars left from a childhood witnessing his parents' murder suicide by car.
While Ophelia cared for the ailing Thomas, Vincent tries to keep the family hotel business from floundering and being corrupt by another family member. Forced not unhappily into marriage after a one night affair together, Ophelia and Vincent are married within a couple days of the will reading. After lots of graphic scenes of sexy time involving the nice girl not being nice , Ophelia learns some possibly disturbing results, and Vincent is battling to trap the relative who is corrupting the business.
The story ends with another sexy time sequence and the happy couple vowing to make it work.
Story was predictable and an easy romantic read filled with lots of sexy time scenes. Not a mind blowing read, but simple romantic read to keep the reader entertained. I was provided this book by I. Book Tours for a honest review.
Aug 31, Kiru Taye rated it really liked it Shelves: My Review: This story reminds me of why I enjoy reading category contemporary romance—the on-page interactions between the hero and heroine, the hook of the heart-tugging emotional conflict, and the sizzling romance. This book had it all. I loved the hero, Vincent DuChamps.
I totally bought his conflict. Ophelia is my kind of girl. Although she is supposedly Ms goody, she's strong and flawed. They are truly a matc My Review: They are truly a match for each other, although they had to be forced together to realize it.
Have I mentioned that this story sizzled from page to page. There was never a dull moment. And also the set up for the next stories in the series are done well so much so that I'm awaiting the next book.
The author's writing style is so easy to read that you get swept along with the story, living the scenes through the eyes of the characters. My only pet-peeve was the head-hopping in some places. But then again this is my personal preference. I know some people don't mind it. Several times I was reminded of stories by some of my favorite Harlequin authors. This story has the glamour of a Harlequin Desire with the steaminess of a Harlequin Blaze. My Verdict: I loved this story.
In fact I'm already stalking site for the next book in the series. I want to read Kaitlyn's story! My Recommendations: I would recommend this story to all lovers of steamy romance. My Rating: Aug 06, Christina Torretta rated it it was amazing.
I had not read the synopsis before reading this book and I was absolutely stunned that the two main characters, Vincent and Ophelia, were forced to marry. But, that being said, there is much more in here for them to deal with, much more! The drama was just as interesting as the sex! And it really is so nice that this is the exact opposite of an insta-love story. And since they have known each other forever, they had many other complications to deal with.
I could not put this book down. The writing was fabulous, the plot was engaging, characters were interesting! I loved every word, and boy were the sex scenes intense.
AND this is just book one of the series! The other two main characters that are introduced I sure will be in books two and three. I sure hope so because I want to get to know more about them now. Fabulous read! Definitely adult! Read in one sitting while shooing my husband away! Oct 07, Black Butterfly rated it it was amazing Recommends it for: Oct 08, Marisa rated it it was amazing. Two people who have loved each other for years are suddenly thrown into a marriage of convenience.
Their love is undeniable even though they each battle against it. Even with all their secrets and insecurities, They realize the cannot function without each other and finally admit what everyone else has known. True love once again rocks the house!!!
Oct 07, Lynn rated it really liked it. Ophelia has loved Vincent since they were children but she is the granddaughter of the housekeeper. Vincent has grown up to become the CEO of the Dechamps family business.
His uncle Thomas is gravely ill and he has added some interesting provisions into his will. Would it turn Ophelia and Vincent's world up side down? Oct 08, Nicole marked it as tbr-own-ebook Shelves: Feb 25, Kathy Rice rated it really liked it. She have me a signed copy of this book. I started it and couldn't put it down. The history and chemistry between Ophelia and Vincent was heart warming and real. Defiantly not my last book by this young lady. Oct 14, Victoria Vane rated it really liked it.
This is a short erotic romance very light BDSM with an interesting setting, a strong plot, and engaging characters. It's well written and a great start to a series I will follow.
Oct 06, Barbara rated it it was amazing Shelves: I love the vibe of the story.. This was a sweet, loving story. The plot was awesome, the characters are amazing. Great book Oct 08, Melissa rated it liked it.
Sweet, sect and enjoyable read. Oct 13, Alisa rated it liked it. This was a good book. I'm going to have to find the rest of the series.
Good book You people should just read this book yourselves and write your own review on this novel yourself and I really enjoyed reading this book very much so.
Shelley MA. Nov 24, Stacey rated it liked it.
For example, the way they are thrust together is very different! Vincent DuChamps, said Billionaire, has been lusting after Ophelia for years, unwilling to pursue her due to his fear that he is just like his father! Another thing is the length of time the two have known each other.
Ophelia barely has time to bask in the afterglow of their encounter, when Vincent turns indifferent and basically kicks her out of his bed!!
Still reeling from anger and embarrassment of the treatment she received from Vincent, it is announced that the two of them are to marry within two months in order for Vincent to remain at the helm of the family hotel empire. Of course they are hesitant to do so, but realize that there are no other options…too many things are at stake! I enjoyed reading this book, it was a quick and easy read with a little bit of everything in it.
But when I say a little bit of everything I mean a little bit of everything! Of course there is the SEX! There are some pretty hot and heavy sex scenes with a hint BDSM! The scenes were erotic enough and left you wishing there were more! There was a little bit of conflict, however I found that each conflict was too easily resolved.
It was like the conflict just started and by the next chapter it was quickly and neatly resolved with no crazy messy drama in between! Personally, I would have like to see more drama in it! Once Vincent said he was into her, that was it and she never overly questioned it! I especially liked how she was able to stand up for herself after their first encounter, after all it she seems to be a woman of good moral values!
It also left me wondering if Vincent and Ophelia were going make it the mandatory year, or not?! This is the first in a series of 3, which could also be read on their own or together. Excellent read I had never read any of this author writings, but took a chance and really glad I did. Just bought the full series. You fall in love with Vincent and love his better half. The sister leaves something to be desired but there is reasons for it, actually for all of the siblings.
Great story, great love, great author. Nov 06, Ivy Deluca rated it it was ok.
Thomas dies, and leaves a rather outrageous will which forces all the DuChamps siblings to face their demons by jumping several hoops to claim their inheritance.
This book focuses on just Vincent, and his requirement is that he marry Ophelia or he loses his inheritance and the family company and her grandmother would be tossed out into the street. I liked that the heroine Ophelia, was pretty level headed and practical, but not boring. The Bottom Line I've read other books by this author, and I think she has promise. This book, while not bad, and not outstanding, if you want a simple erotic romance featuring a curvy girl, you may enjoy this. I just think this author is capable of more.
Aug 02, Cassandra rated it really liked it Shelves: My Thoughts - 4 out of 5 unicorns - I really liked it!! It is not that there is anything wrong with it, but there is also nothing to attract me to this book in the cover. I do not usually read Contemporary Romance, but I found I really liked this story.
I loved that it was set in New Orleans, and I think this is why I connected to it. I have been New Orleans several times because when I was in the Air Force, I was stationed near there for tech school. I loved the French Quarter. I really liked how Vincent loves his family and takes care of them. He is strong, but his demons keep him from finding what he needs.
Ophelia is sweet and caring, but I was a little annoyed at times because I would have liked her to be more confident and strong. I loved the connections made to New Orleans because it made me connect to everything. If you are a fan of New Orleans and Contemporary Romance, then this is probably a great story for you: Nov 23, Simone rated it really liked it Shelves: Vincent and his siblings were raised by his Uncle Thomas shortly after his parents' demise.
Unfortunately, Vincent being the oldest, has vivid memories of his father's jealousy and his parents constant bickering that he reached the conclusion that marriage only brings misery. Uncle Thomas' assistant was the housekeeper' s granddaughter Ophelia.
She grew up alongside the Beauchamp siblings and has always been in love with Vincent. Little did she know that he was attracted to her as well. After a Vincent and his siblings were raised by his Uncle Thomas shortly after his parents' demise. After a passionate one night stand with Ophelia, Vincent decides it was a huge mistake and vows to stay away from her.
At the reading of Uncle Thomas' will, it states that in order for the siblings to keep their inheritance, Vincent and Ophelia must get married.
Not only must they live together but also share the same bed for one year. Will Vincent's haunting memories ruin his chances for a lifetime of happiness?
This was an unusual romance novel. Instead of a love hate relationship, or one person chasing the other, we see two people that have been secretly in love with each other since childhood. This was certainly an example of opposites attracting. The story was pretty good and flowed nicely.
The only issues I had were: Other than that, I think this was a great romance. Feb 12, Izzie d rated it liked it. There are lots of good points about this book. But I hate it when the Hero is in love with the heroine and has been for years but for whatever reason he can't be with her even though he knows she's the 'one' so he stays away from her fair enough and sleeps with countless other women.
If you can overlook that it's good. Oct 18, Leigh Savage rated it it was amazing. The connection between Ophelia and Vincent is instant and the more they try to deny each other the more they find their selves pushed together. The heat between Ophelia and Vincent is undeniable and will keep you turning the pages.
